~/reports Name: Georg Tremmel Date: 04/02/2002 Project: Probes project This was a strongly executed investigation, where it was quite apparent that the area you choose to examine was of great interest to you both. We feel that you have developed a very strong direction from which future work could evolve. We liked the way you used a surreal interpretation of return - a process that you cleverly labelled "old shit into new shit". This was a well-defined approach to working with the probes returns that clearly built upon the ideas of collecting old media from volunteers. You weren't afraid to continue the experimental phase of working during the show itself - which was quite refreshing. Even though your the work was fantastic, your verbal presentation was quite poor and left us (who knew your project quite well) wondering where it was all going. This is an areea you really have to work on - and quickly, don't hide all the intersting stuff away in your heads. You hinted ince or twice during tutorials there might be directions in which you could go from here. Your work was very prolific, but in your presentation you never managed to convey the fact that you found any one thing exciting, or even worthwhile in pursuing. You need to start picking out certain areas that you are particularly interested in for future pursuit. One approach that you might consider for the future, which you both mentioned during tutorials, would be to obsessively explore on of the emerging themes. For instance an in-depth exploration of the Lego architecture would be an equally valid use of time as trying to address many ideas all at once.
